Ordering

Is everything on the site in stock?
No. Products marked Quick ship · stocked in the USA are held in US warehouses. Others are special order, and their pages say so with a lead time.
What are your lead times?
It depends on how the material is made:
  • Stocked in the USA: ships in days; samples ship the same day.
  • Made to order in Spain: about 10 weeks.
  • Special order from Italy: about 10 weeks; minimum quantities apply.
  • Custom-cut stone and waterjet: about 8 to 12 weeks.
  • CNC: 10 to 12 weeks.
  • Custom mosaic: sample in 2 to 3 weeks, then about 10 weeks.
  • Custom color: free sample in 2 to 4 weeks, then 8 to 12 weeks.
We confirm the date in writing with your quote. More in our lead times guide.
Do you do fabrication and installation?
Yes. We can quote custom fabrication and installation. For larger projects, we can also have material cut to size at our partner factories overseas.
Can an overseas order be rushed?
Usually, yes. Production can sometimes move up a week or two, and most shipments from overseas can be expedited by air freight, at a cost; ask us for an air freight quote with your order.
Can you cut stone to a custom size or finish?
Yes. Every stone can be cut to order from the block: any size, thickness, finish, edge or pattern, in about 8 to 12 weeks. Minimum order quantities may apply.
Is there a minimum order?
Custom and special orders can carry minimum quantities. We tell you up front with your quote.
Do you deliver outside New York?
Yes, anywhere in the world. Beyond projects across the US, we have delivered to Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom, and as far as Hawaii. Freight is quoted with each order.
How do I get a price?
Send us the drawings or the quantities and we will quote. Architects, designers and builders get net pricing through our Trade Program.
Can I return an order?
We do not accept returns on imported or special-order products from overseas. Some products stocked in the USA can be returned on request, with a restocking fee and freight paid by the client. Please ask before sending anything back.

Materials

What is the difference between quartz and quartzite?
Quartz is engineered: crushed natural quartz bound with resin into a dense, non-porous slab that needs no sealing. Quartzite is a natural stone, very hard, with every slab different, and it should be sealed. See our quartz slabs and quartzite vs marble guide.
Porcelain or natural stone?
Porcelain is consistent, needs no sealing and suits heavy use and outdoor areas. Natural stone is one of a kind, ages beautifully and can be refinished. Our pool deck guide and slab vs tile guide go further.
Does natural stone need sealing?
Most natural stone should be sealed after installation and resealed now and then. Porcelain and quartz do not need sealing. More in our sealing guide.
Honed or polished?
Polished is glossy and shows the color deepest; honed is matte, calmer and less slippery. See honed vs polished marble.
