Four Seasons Resort Maui
Honed beige limestone paving with a pillowed edge for the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, dry-laid and sorted by shade before it shipped.

The brief
The Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea wanted a limestone floor with a soft, relaxed look that suits the island. The stone also had to travel a long way, so there was no room for surprises when the crates were opened on site.
What we supplied
We supplied beige limestone paving in a honed finish, with a honed, pillowed edge. A pillowed edge is rounded on top, so each piece looks soft and slightly raised, like a cushion. Honed means smooth and matte, with no shine.
How it came together
Limestone varies in color from block to block. Before anything shipped, the stone was dry-laid, set out on the ground without mortar, and sorted by shade. That way the floor reads as one even surface, not a patchwork, and the installers on Maui knew exactly how the pieces went together.
The stone then shipped to Hawaii, straight to the resort, where a local flooring contractor installed it in late 2024.
The result
The finished paving is calm and warm, with the gentle shadow lines of the pillowed edges giving it texture. The resort came back to us in 2026 to look at wall tile for a new phase.
