Ludlow House

The brief

Ludlow House is Soho House's members' club on the Lower East Side. In 2026 the club asked for new stone mosaic floors across its entire first floor, in one pattern.

What we supplied

We supplied a custom stone mosaic in Botticino marble, tumbled and distressed, laid in a cross pattern. A border in black stone, also tumbled and distressed, frames the field, with a thin Botticino stripe running through it.

How it came together

The mosaic was made to order for this floor. The sheets interlock on all four sides, and the border pieces interlock on their short sides, so the pattern runs on without a straight seam where one sheet meets the next. That matters on a floor this size, where a visible grid would break the pattern up.

Tumbling and distressing the stone softens every edge and takes off the shine. The floor starts life with the worn look a busy club would give it over many years.

The result

The result is one continuous stone floor that ties the whole first floor of the club together. The warm cream of the Botticino and the dark border give the rooms a quiet frame. It is the kind of floor that will only look better as members walk on it.

Ludlow House is one of several Soho House projects we have supplied in New York, alongside Cecconi's in Dumbo.
